2018 Gaidar Forum program available online
The preliminary program of the Ninth Gaidar Forum, which will be held from January 16 – 18, 2018, is available on the forum website. International experts taking part in the forum events are listed as well.
The discussions of the annual Gaidar Forum focus on the most pressing issues of the social and economic sphere. The participants will discuss modern challenges for public administration, the introduction of project work in government, innovation drivers, new challenges for central banks, digital society, sanctions, the centenary of the Russian revolution, confidence, the barriers and factors of successful entrepreneurship in Russia, and cluster approach in the era of digital production.
This year’s highlight will be the Values and Virtues plenary discussion conducted by Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) Rector Vladimir Mau. The participants will include Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank, Kristalina Georgieva; Chairman of JP Morgan Chase International, former Governor of the Bank of Israel (1991-2000) Jacob Frenkel; political analyst Ivan Krastev; President of the European Policy Center, former President of the European Council (2009-2014), former Prime Minister of Belgium (2008-2009) Herman Van Rompuy; and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Kai Mykkanen.
Overall, the Gaidar Forum will offer more than 60 discussion platforms, including panel and expert discussions, open dialogues, presentations and meetings. More information about the events is on the official forum website.
