Anatoly Chubais delivers lecture at RANEPA
On September 14, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) hosted a lecture by Anatoly Chubais, Chairman of the Management Board of RUSNANO. The lecture was devoted to “Russian nanoindustry: 2007-2017-2027.”
RANEPA Rector Vladimir Mau presented Anatoly Chubais adding that such open meetings are becoming regular events at the Academy. The listeners at the open lecture there were students and teachers of the interuniversity high-technology engineer training program RANEPA delivers cooperatively with other major schools such as Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and the National University of Science and Technology MISiS. The joint program is aimed at the training of engineers who are in demand in the innovative economy.
Anatoly Chubais talked to the audience about the Russian nanoindustry’s development from 2007 to 2017. The main clusters of this sphere are nanoelectronics and photonics, surface coatings and modifications. New materials are one of the major areas in which the nanoindustry is gaining a foothold swiftly. The Russian market of innovative pharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine technology is growing fast. Solar energy also has colossal prospects in Russia, for example with the highly effective hybrid ‘sun-wind-diesel’ plants, the speaker said.
