Dmitry Medvedev: The Presidential Academy has become a unique educational institution and will continue its development
In recent years the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration has become a unique educational institution and will continue its development. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev declared it at the meeting with the rector of the Presidential Academy Vladimir Mau.
"I consider that in the recent years the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration has turned into a unique educational institution with large powers and opportunities. I hope that this development will continue further as well, taking into consideration serious tasks connected with the development of the state institutes, improvements of the public service quality, optimization of various institutes which deal with the state functions execution", – the head of the government emphasized.
Vladimir Mau, in his turn, told the Prime Minister about the present condition of the Academy. According to him, "the unprecedented educational institution has appeared". Mau pointed out that the Academy is comprised of four blocks, which other largest higher education institutions do not have and can not be proud of: it is classical university, national school of staff preparation, business school and the scientific and expert center. The rector of the Academy added that the educational institution numbers 200 thousand students and listeners annually. "Very serious", – the Prime Minister commented on this figure.
Speaking about the financial condition of the Academy, Vladimir Mau emphasized that 70% of its income comes from the educational activity. «This is another popularity indicator", – he noted.
During the meeting Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Mau also discussed questions about the education quality in the Academy branches. The Prime Minister pointed out that it has to be not worse, than in the head institution.
