Gaidar Forum experts will discuss digital economy, cryptocurrency, blockchain and their prospects

The panel discussion, Digital Society: Causes and Legal Consequences of the Destruction of Intermediaries in Financial Markets will be held on January 17, 2018, the second day of the Gaidar Forum at RANEPA.

Economic experts and representatives of the world's leading financial companies will try to understand who or what stands behind the explosive interest to cryptocurrencies and ICO in 2017; whether the rapid penetration of cryptocurrencies in our daily life is a threat to the current system of financial intermediation. Experts will discuss cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and what is the most important about them; the views on the model of monetary and fiscal policies; and the future of digital economy they will try to forecast.

Head of the stock markets and financial engineering division of the RANEPA Department of Finance and Banking, former deputy chairman of the Central Bank Konstantin Korishchenko will moderate the discussion. The panel will include Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Stock Market Traders Oleg Vyugin; Chairman, SWIFT Users Group Alexey Maslov; Deputy Minister of Finance Alexei Moiseyev; General Director of the Analytical Credit Rating Agency Yekaterina Trofimova; Head of Mastercard Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia Alexey Malinovsky; First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Sergey Shvetsov and Chief Investment Strategist of VernoCapital Roland Nash.


The organizers include the Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (Gaidar Institute) and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
