Leading international experts will speak at RANEPA International Summer Campus

This year’s international experts at the RANEPA Summer Campus will include representatives of the US – Clyde Tuggle, Pat Dickson, Neil Osborn and Sam Potolicchio; Spain will be represented by Josep Bertran, and Romania by Dragos Dorobat. Giuseppe Gullo will represent Italy.

The Summer Campus of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) will be held from 15 to 26 July 2018 in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is a unique annual international educational project for young people. The Summer Campus curriculum comprises lectures and interactive sessions with leading Russian and foreign academics, government employees and world-class business executives. The project was initiated by RANEPA and the Government of Tatarstan, with a mission to create an environment for talented young people to communicate, and to promote the development of a new generation of intellectual elite.

For the fourth time in a row, Clyde Tuggle, co-founder of Pine Island Capital Partners, Senior Vice President and Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer of The Coca-Cola Company (2008-2017) will address the participants of the RANEPA International Summer Campus. The expert's report will be devoted to Ten ways for an entrepreneur to fail. Last year, the Summer Campus participants learned about the franchise business model of The Coca-Cola Company. In 2006, Сlyde Tuggle was elected to the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia. Previously, he had held the position of and Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, and member of the company's Executive Committee. Mr. Tuggle serves as a Trustee of the Southern Center for International Studies and the Yale University Divinity School and a Member of the Board of Visitors of Emory University.

Another regular participant in the International Summer Campus, Academic Director of RANEPA Global Governance and Leadership Program Sam Potolicchio, will visit the forum for the sixth time this year. The expert will again share his expertise in Persuasion and public speaking: how to act effectively. During last year’s Summer Campus, he told the students about leadership in the 21st century, gave tips for successful public speaking, discussed the importance of making complex decisions and analyzed some speeches of US officials. Sam Potolicchio has degrees from Georgetown and Harvard universities. He is an Honored Professor and Head of the Department of Political and Public Communications at RANEPA School of Public Policy. Winner of numerous awards for teaching activities of Georgetown University, he has organized summer summits for students from 140 countries over his teaching career. In 2011, he was awarded the Patricia Cross Prize of the American Association of Colleges and Universities as one of the future leaders of American higher education. In 2012, he was the only political science teacher included in The Princeton Review’s list of best teachers in America.

Giuseppe Gullo, Managing Director for Europe at Gitanjali Group, will share his knowledge and experience with the participants. Earlier he was Managing Director in Start UP Italian Luxury Companies in the sector of watches and jewels such as Baldinini and Sicis Jewels. He has been in the Luxury industry since 1998, first as an investment banker in BCI – Milano and then as CFO of Italian Accessible Luxury public company for more than 10 years.
 
The International Summer Campus will again be visited by RANEPA and Pompeu Fabra University Professor Jocep Bertrand. During his previous visits, the expert shared his knowledge of the use of identification ideas, social capital, as well as effective ways of conflict resolution and global forecasting in economics. This year, the professor will tell the Campus participants about using the culture and art tools to create social capital. The professor has worked at Foment Formació for more than 15 years, where he was responsible for international cooperation projects. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. For more than twenty years, he has been teaching international economics at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.

Another one of the prominent Summer Campus experts will be its regular guest, Chairman of REDD Intelligence Neil Osborn. Last year, the expert spoke the future – how the world will change. Earlier, Neil Osborn explained the trends on the capital market. He started his media career in 1972 as a reporter at the Daily Progress, Charlottesville, Virginia. He was appointed US editor of Euromoney in 1983, and moved to London to become editor of Euromoney at the end of 1985. From 1990 Mr. Osborn has been group publisher and managing director of Euromoney. He is a member of the board of directors of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. He is a graduate of Worcester College, Oxford University.

Pat Dickson, Professor at the Wake Forest University, will be a new expert at the International Summer Campus. Prior to earning his PhD in 1997 from the University of Alabama, Dickson spent fifteen years as an entrepreneur, co-founding companies in the automotive parts and service industry and as a corporate executive serving as Director of Franchising for a super-regional retail and manufacturing company in the same industry. Currently, Dickson is a research fellow and former President of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).

A Summer Campus tutor, Senior Teacher of the RANEPA Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences Dragos Dorobat, will deliver a report on Business Planning Template. Previously, the expert successfully worked as a tutor, and shared with the participants his experience in intercultural communications.
