RANEPA exchanges experience with Berlin School of Economics and Law
The International Symposium, For Good Governance of Tomorrow. (Für die gute Verwaltung von morgen) was held at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin, HWR), where an agreement was reached to expand partnership with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
The symposium was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of HWR Berlin’s MPA program. HWR Berlin and RANEPA have been cooperating for a year now. The parties exchange experience, including on the HWR Berlin program. The symposium was attended by Professor Emil Markwart of RANEPA Graduate School of Public Administration.
The Berliner Wissenschaftsverlag publishing house released a collection of expert publications, Masterstudiengang Public Administration - Für die gute Verwaltung von morgen on the occasion of the anniversary of the MPA program. The book comprises more than 15 articles concerning important issues of public administration in modern realities. The collection includes an article by Professor Markwart from RANEPA analyzing the recent changes in Russian local government.
The symposium participants discussed current issues of public administration and its future and considered the content and formats of personnel training and their subsequent career opportunities. Berlin Senator for Finance Matthias Kollatz-Ahnen, Vice-President of the Bertelsmann Foundation, and author of the best-selling book, Gestalten statt Verwalten, Senior Vice President of the Bertelsmann Foundation Sebastian Muschter also attended the event. Managers and professors of HWR Berlin spoke at the symposium.
Professor Markwart from RANEPA held talks with Vice-President of the Berlin Institute of Economics and Law Professor Susanne Meyer and HWR Berlin’s MPA program manager Professor Dorte Busch on the sidelines of the forum. Professor Markwart met with the Director of the Berlin Professional School (the structural unit of HWR Berlin responsible for additional education programs), Professor Matthias Tomenendal, and other colleagues.
As a result of the talks, the parties agreed to develop cooperation between RANEPA Graduate School of Public Administration and HWR Berlin.
In addition, the representatives of the HWR Berlin were invited to participate in the roundtables in Kaliningrad on July 18, 2018, which will be organized as part of the next module of the special presidential Program for the Preparation and Retraining of the Management Personnel Reserve delivered by RANEPA Graduate School of Public Administration. The event will be held in the Western branch of the Presidential Academy.
