RANEPA representatives organize project management workshop for senior Emercom officials including Minister Vladimir Puchkov
On September 23 and 24, senior officials and regional department heads of Russia’s Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters attended a two-day workshop on the use of project management in the ministry’s system. Emercom-related universities and Federal Firefighting Service’s training centers participated in the event via videoconference.
Modern risk management calls for new systematic approaches, Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said. The role of human factor in the government’s efforts to protect citizens from natural disasters is growing, which means that education, training and professional growth programs for Emercom specialists and leaders need to be improved and perfected. In his speech, the minister thoroughly discussed the development of the Unified State System for Emergency Prevention and Response. This workshop will help generate modern approaches to dealing with various risks posed by the modern world, and develop public administration technologies, he added.
