RANEPA Summer Campus Participants learned about nanoindustry development
On 22 July Sergey Kalyuzhny, Adviser to Chief Executive Officer—Chief Scientist, Member of the Board of RUSNANO, spoke about tendencies of world nanoindustry development.
Sergey Kalyuzhny told RANEPA Summer Campus participants about current nanoindustry market situation, patents in this sphere and three main clusters: nanomaterials and various chemical technologies; nanoelectronics and optronics; medicine and pharmaceuticals.
Scientists start to speculate about the entry into the era of nanotechnologies, due to the tremendous upgrowth of nanoindustry in the last few years. In 2007, Presidential Initiative on nanoindustry development in Russia was enacted; and currently about 50 countries all over the world support it by establishing similar programs.
“By 2020, nanoindustry will have increased threefold, market turnover will exceed 3,5 billion dollars and nanoelectronics will make three-quarters of all nanoindustry”, - Sergey Kalyuzhny summarized.
