The Pre-Bachelor's Foundation Program is available as a 2-semester program with an opportunity to progress to a selected number of BA degrees at the Russian Presidential Academy taught in Russian. You will study your Pre-Bachelor's Preparation Programme at our main campus in Moscow.
How long will I study for?
This program lasts one academic year (from October to August). The year is divided into 2 semesters and one examination week. On average, you will undertake 25-28 hours of classroom-based study per week.
What will I study?
Students will focus on Intensive Russian Language from October of the year they join to January of the following year and then Introduction to Russia and 3 academic subjects related to the selected Pathway will be added from January to August.
The Russian Language (720 ac. hours) is studied throughout the year:
- Academic writing skills
- Academic reading skills development
- Presentation and discussion skills
- Listening and note-taking
Other course content includes:
- Introduction to Russia (72 ac. hours)
Humanitarian Pathway (216 ac. hours)
- Social Sciences;
Economic Pathway (216 ac. hours)
- Social Sciences;
Technical Pathway (216 ac. hours)
- Computer science;
How will I be assessed?
Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester, and will include formative and summative assignments and other assessment tasks.
After completing the course, students take exams in the Russian language and academic subjects (test + interview). Students, who pass their exams successfully (>60 points), receive a Certificate of Completion. You will receive tailored support from the International Tutors team with your application for the RANEPA Bachelor's degree programs.
A student, who does not take final exams or fails at least one exam during the final assessment, is not eligible to receive a certificate of completion. In this case, the signed and stamped reference letter issued on RANEPA official letterhead with the total number of hours taken and grades received.
What are the benefits?
Successful candidates are eligible for a 40% tuition waiver scholarship on a selected number of further tuition-paid full-time degree programs. List of available programs published each November for the next year's admission period. The best candidates (>90 points) are eligible for nomination for a Government Scholarship (Quota) which covers 100% tuition fee for the Bachelor's degree program.
