Digital Economy Task Force prepares recommendations on inclusive development
The second meeting of the G20 Digital Economy Task Force (DETF) under the Argentinian presidency in the fora was held in Buenos Aires on 31 July – 1 August 2018. The representatives from G20 member and guest countries, together with officials from international organizations, discussed issues related to digital transformation and prepared recommendations on inclusive development.
The agenda included discussions on data and measurement of the digital economy, digital government, bridging the gender digital divide, digital infrastructure and Economy 4.0. Participants also worked on the joint declaration for the Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting, taking place on 23-24 August in the province of Salta, in the north-west of Argentina.
Created under the German G20 presidency in 2017, the DETF acknowledges the new digital era and the effective use of new technologies as a key factor in economic development.
Officials from the Argentine Government, Business 20 (B20) representatives and entrepreneurs took part yesterday in the Digital Economy Summit led by the B20, the engagement group representing the international business community. The event in Buenos Aires helped build consensus on the B20’s final document of recommendations on the digital economy and Economy 4.0, which will be submitted on 4-5 October at the group’s summit.
