G20 discussed global health policies in Mar del Plata
The G20 Health Ministerial meeting under the Argentinian presidency in the fora was held in Mar del Plata on 4 October 2018.
The meeting was attended by over 30 heads of delegations from G20 member countries, guest countries and international organizations. The meeting was chaired by Argentine Secretary of Health, Adolfo Rubinstein.
The ministers discussed a wide range of the global health agenda issues, including fight against childhood overweight and obesity, antimicrobial resistance, strengthening of health systems and their responsiveness to crises and pandemics.
The meeting concluded with a joint declaration`s (in English) adoption with recommendations to be submitted for consideration at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Buenos Aires on 30 November – 1 December 2018.
