G7 Energy Ministers’ meeting under the Canadian presidency
The G7 Energy Ministers’ meeting under the Canadian presidency in the fora was held in Halifax on 21 September 2018. The meeting was attended by representatives from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the European Union. The meeting revolved around the central theme of Building the Energy Systems of Tomorrow (BEST): systems that are secure, resilient, sustainable and clean.
The Heads of Delegation discussions emphasized that energy lies at the heart of every country’s sustainable economic growth and that access to reliable, affordable, sustainable and modern energy is crucial for citizen well-being.
The Heads of Delegation agreed to advance collaborative efforts on several priorities, including cybersecurity for digitalized energy infrastructure systems, modernizing power systems and grids.
