IMF to Review Progress in Corporate Governance
International Monetary Fund presented Corporate Taxation in the Global Economy report. The new paper is based on the previous report (2014) and presents assessment of results achieved and persistent challenges as well as a high-level overview of key economic aspects and consequences of proposed alternative schemes of taxation that are mostly under discussion. The report stresses the importance of inclusive cooperation and the role of the Fund in this context.
The authors highlighted the progress achieved in anti-BEPS policy; however, many problems are still to be addressed and that is why the report do not contain any specific provions on reforms of the global tax syste,
The Executive Directors of the IMF highly evaluated the report and noticed the importance of maintaing inclusiveness while discussing the mentioned issues.
