IMF World Economic Outlook Update: July 2019
On 23 July 2019, the International Monetary Fund will present the World Economic Outlook Update. The presentation will be held by Gita Gopinath, IMF chief economist.
In April "World Economic Outlook" the Fund's experts noticed the decline of the global growth against the background of steady growth of 2017 and 2018 due to recent amendments to China's interior regulations and trade tensions with the United States. IN addition, recently approved environmental standard caused the decline in automobile production in Germany. As a result, the growth forecast was lowered from 3.6 per cent to 3.3 percent. The results of 2018 were also corrected because of adverse conjuncture of the second half of the year.
The forecast for the next part of 2019 is more optimistic. The growth ratio is expected to rise due to stabilization of China's economy as well as more favorable global financial situation. Taking into account the uncertanties, optomistic forecast is valid for 2020 as well.
