RANEPA CIIR will organize a special session on the future of the G20 in the framework of the Gaidar Forum
A special session of the Gaidar Forum on the topic “G20 at Ten. Conclusive Accomplishments, Persistent Challenges, New Risks, Future Priorities” will be organized on 15 January 2019 at 5 pm (venue: White hall, Building 5, 82/5, Prospect Vernadskogo, Moscow, Russian Federation).
The G20 created in 2008 to overcome the economic and financial crisis, has gradually turned from the crisis management institution into the premier forum for international economic cooperation. The forum, however, emerged under drastically different conditions. Can the G20 assume responsibility for strengthening multilateralism in resolving global problems and developing new rules for the international economic relations system in the context of rising geopolitical pressures, increasing multipolarity, digital transformation and structural shifts in global economy? What should be the priorities for cooperation on the key areas of the institution’s agenda?
Heads of the Russian governmental bodies, international organizations and leading experts will address these and other issues.
Draft programme of the event (in Russian, in English)
