World Bank to Elect New President This Spring
On 01 February 2019, the World Bank President Jim Yong Kim left his office after he announced his decision earlier in January. From 07 February till 14 March 2019, the World Bank's Executive Board will consider nominees for the office.
Three candidates will be announced after the end of evaluation process; the President will be elected amoung them. The Executive Board plans to elect a new top official before the annual Spring Meeting of 2019.
New President is expected to be well-experienced in managing an international body, be objective and impartial in decision-making, demostrate commitment to fulfil the Bank's main objectives pointed out in the Forward Look till 2030. The World Bank President is also a top official of the IBRD, IDA, IFC, MIGA and ICSID (the World Bank Group subsidiary bodies).
