Ambulances come with a doctor and, depending on the situation, may provide immediate first aid. If necessary, the patient will be taken to the nearest emergency station, or hospital, or to a private hospital if the patient’s insurance policy requires it.
In case of emergency, initial medical care is free. Further medical treatment is provided on a fee-for-service basis. Be sure to keep in mind insurance coverage when purchasing treatment.
In case of emergency, you can also contact the Consulate of your country.
