The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) was established by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated September 20, 2010 No. 1140 by merging the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy (RANE, founded in 1977) with the Russian Presidential Academy of Public Administration (RAPA, founded in 1994), as well as 12 other federal state educational institutions.
