The Presidential Academy hosts working meeting between Rector Alexey Komissarov and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son.
The parties discussed the implementation of professional development programs for Vietnamese civil servants. Cooperation between the Presidential Academy and Vietnamese universities gained significant momentum in 2024, following Alexey Komissarov’s visit to Hanoi as part of a delegation led by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam. The Presidential Academy has already launched and plans to expand a series of educational initiatives, including internships for Academy students at Hanoi State University, the scientific conference “Russia-Vietnam: Past, Present, Future,” professional development programs for Vietnamese civil servants and training opportunities for Russian public officials.
“I am confident that all events planned for the anniversary year of diplomatic relations between our countries will further strengthen the strategic partnership and foster development of traditional friendly ties between Vietnam and Russia,” said Alexey Komissarov.
Bui Thanh Son praised the Academy’s fruitful collaboration with Vietnamese universities and commended the Academy’s role in training highly qualified personnel, not only in Russia but also abroad.
As a symbolic gesture, the Academy presented Bui Thanh Son with a copy of the 1983 doctoral thesis defended by Nguyen Phu Trong, former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, at the Academy of Social Sciences – the predecessor of the Presidential Academy.
