Every year hundreds of foreign students, students in master’s programs and postgraduate students enter the Presidential Academy, and for many of them Russian is not their native language.

Every foreign student has the opportunity to:

• determine their level of Russian language
• learn Russian language under the guidance of highly qualified specialists
• get acquainted with Russian culture and traditions
• improve oral and written skills of studying and communicating in the Russian language
• receive a state certificate of course completion

For effective and enjoyable studying, acquaintance with the culture and traditions of Russia, the Center for Intensive Training and Professional Guidance and the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at the Institute of Social Sciences at the Presidential Academy have organized Russian language courses, which any foreign student can enroll in.

Russian as a foreign language

Pre-university training for foreign citizens is the most effective way to enroll in Russian-language study programs if the current knowledge of the Russian language is at an elementary level or the applicant does not speak Russian at all.

«Preparation of foreign citizens and stateless persons for mastering professional educational programs in Russian» is an additional general education general development program for children and adults.

Application deadline: September 01 / October 01

Duration of training: October — June / November — July*

Schedule: 5 days a week, approximately from 9:00 to 14:00

The curriculum includes: 1008 academic hours

Disciplines: Russian language for foreigners, mathematics, social studies, history

*Russian student visa is valid until August 31.

Documents required for applying:

• application form
• ID photo or equivalent
• copy of the identity document of a foreign citizen (the passport should be valid for at least 18 months on the day of entry into the Russian Federation)**
• notarized translation into Russian of the identity document of a foreign citizen**

To enroll, you need a paid contract (scanned copy of the signed contract + confirmation of payment transfer from the bank).

Cost

• Tuition fee: 275 000 rubles for 2024/2025
• Student dormitory costs approximately 12,000 — 17,000 rubles per month (depending on the type of room)
• Medical insurance 19,000 rubles/year (includes the mandatory fingerprinting procedure and the rules for medical examination of foreign citizens in accordance with Federal Law dated December 29, 2021 No. 274-FZ dated July 1, 2021 «On amendments to the Federal Law «On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation» and the Federal Law «On State Fingerprint Registration in the Russian Federation»).
