DICTÉE 2019 Federal French Language Competition
The French Institute in Russia will hold a federal competition as part of the Francophonie Festival in March; the winners will be awarded with an educational trip to France. Applications are accepted until February 28.
The competition is for students not majoring in French, and will include two stages.
Regional stage. On March 1, a dictation will take place, organized by RANEPA Institute for Social Sciences (ISS) in Prechistenka.
The best work will be sent to the French Institute, where the jury will select five best works among all the universities that participated in the dictation. The top five participants will be promoted to the federal stage. The regional stage results will be announced on March 4.
Federal stage. The second dictation will be organized on March 21 at the French Embassy in Moscow, followed by an award ceremony and a formal buffet reception.
The 10 winners of the federal dictation will be awarded with a two-week educational trip to France in summer 2019. The French Embassy will cover the cost of their half-board accommodation, training, tours, as well as their potential travel costs in France.
RANEPA students (aged 18 to 25 as of March 1, 2019) who have been studying French for less than 250 hours (that is, first and second-years) are eligible to participate in the competition. Students of five-year programs (majoring in teaching or translating), as well as those proficient in French at the B1 level or above, cannot participate.
