2022 Gaidar Forum scheduled for January 13 and 14
The Gaidar Forum organizing committee has approved the dates and format for the 2022 event. The forum will take place on January 13 and 14 in a ‘television’ format – the speakers will attend face-to-face discussions at the Presidential Academy, while the audience will join the sessions online on the forum website or on its media partners’ resources. The Forum will be held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Gaidar Forum has been held annually since 2010. The event brings together representatives of government bodies, public and political figures, leading experts, as well as entrepreneurs from around the world. The forum provides an important source of information on the main socioeconomic and political trends, the business environment and investment climate in Russia.
The theme for the 2022 forum will be the Russian Government’s priorities – the key initiatives for Russia’s socioeconomic development until 2030 embracing the social sphere, infrastructure development, the environment, digital transformation, technological breakthrough, and a client-centric state.
“The Gaidar Forum usually sets a high standard for discussing the most pressing topics on the country's social and economic agenda. They definitely include the Government’s strategic initiatives developed on the President’s instructions. There are more transformations to come, primarily technological ones, which will ultimately lead to a situation where the state is invisible for a citizen. The bureaucratic machine will be replaced by fast, convenient and personalized services,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Chief of the Government Staff.
“The 2021 Gaidar Forum held last January aroused great interest in the expert community as well as among a wide audience. The event included about 120 expert discussions with 418 speakers taking part in them. Thanks to the convenient television format, about 170,000 people around the world watched the forum sessions in just 10 days, and more than 28,000 media reports were published. We expect next year’s forum to be just as interesting. With modern technologies, we can make the event as exciting and accessible as possible for everyone. We are vigorously working with the expert community to determine the most high-profile topics for discussion at the upcoming forum,” added Gaidar Forum Director Ivan Fedotov, Director of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
