Export of Russian regions: from plan to action (VIDEO)
January 16, Expert Discussion “Export of Russian regions: from plan to action” was held within the Gaidar Forum. This year should be a record for Russian non-commodity exports. The goal set by the President of Russia is to achieve $250 billion by 2024. The task is difficult, but it is already obvious that it is feasible. The solution requires detailed elaboration of targets at all levels — from macro-industries to clear guidance for the action of each region of Russia.
Vladimir Salamatov, Chairman of the Committee of the EAEU Business Council, General Director of “International Trade and Integration” research center, who moderated the discussion, noted that the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia is currently supported by a variety of state and commercial programs. Improving the quality of implementation of the planned changes in the institutions of development and export support will enable to achieve the set goals as quickly as possible.
The uniform distribution of the load of the task of increasing the volume of exports will help to optimize this process and form a solid ground for further development. At the moment, V. V. Putin’s instruction is being actively implemented, according to which the government should develop measures to support small and medium-sized companies in order to enter foreign markets. Implementation takes place with the assistance of the Russian Export Center and the Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses. Today the regional export support centers created by the Ministry of Economy help businesses to enter international markets.
Oleg Teplov, Director General of VEB Innovations, said that the export of Russian regions is in the stage of enhanced development, which allows us to make the most favorable forecasts.
As a result of the discussion, the experts came to the conclusion that Russian non-oil exports are confidently moving towards the goal set by the President of Russia.
