On July 19, Etien Yanev, Head of Advocacy & Reference Marketing at Unify, spoke at the International Summer Campus on Gamification in Education and Business. This concept is gaining wide popularity, so the expert’s presentation was very relevant for the students.

Games, both classic and videogames, help people learn new things and progress through completing various tasks, Etien Yanev said. If it is a team game, you need to cooperate. While spending time playing games, people become more curious, and each time they find new ways to achieve their goals. According to the speaker, these qualities are really necessary to anyone who wants to start their own business.

Etien Yanev gave a definition to the gamification concept. According to the speaker, it means applying game design elements and principles in non-game contexts. The “Fun Theory” has proved that fun can change a person’s behavior for the better. According to Yanev, games also improve a team’s joint work, as well as interaction between its members. Thanks to gamification, market knowledge can be improved, and customer relations become more trusting. The lecture aroused keen interest from the students; they had a lot of questions afterwards, and Etien Yanev answered them with pleasure.
