Gender Diversity in Business and Society as key to the Success in the Changing World
The expert discussion, Gender Diversity in Business and Society as key to the Success in the Changing World, took place on January 18, as part of the Ninth Gaidar Forum at RANEPA.
Gender diversity has been on the business agenda for many years. According to research, women and men in business environment assess the features of good leadership differently, and have a different understanding of how these features should be used in practice, which leads to different leadership styles.
According to Marina Pochinok, HR expert of the International Olympic Committee, “A Google study has revealed that teams where men and women work together are much more productive than those of only men.”
In a world characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA), business and society need great and different leaders. “One who implements gender equality in business to increase efficiency will win in the end,” said Irina Kibina, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Old Age for Joy Charity Fund.
Business schools are those who can offer a solution to achieve the necessary gender balance. According to the speakers, this will require close cooperation with the business community, and numerous recent cases already demonstrate examples of successful approaches and practices.
Experts discussed examples of successful business cases of gender balance and set the benchmark for future activities.
“If you provide a good education for a man, you will get a successful company, and if you give a woman an education, you will get a successful, educated generation,” Irina Kibina added.
The organizers include the Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (Gaidar Institute) and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
