Herman Gref at RANEPA: management as a development factor
On October 6, Sberbank CEO and Chairman of the Board Herman Gref spoke at the Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). He gave a lecture to the participants of the Federal Program for Training and Professional Growth of Managerial Staff, RANEPA MBA and EMBA programs, and the Finance and Technology program implemented jointly with Sberbank.
Mr. Gref gave a detailed presentation, which covered global trends in management and the importance of leadership skills in the modern world. He especially emphasized the role of culture for the development of firms and companies of any type and talked about Sberbank’s experience and priorities.
“We are moving from the information era to the digital one; the year 2015 was an important milestone on that way,” Mr. Gref said. “New technologies emerged for structured and unstructured data processing. The world has created 50% of all the accumulated data over the last six months. The term ‘Internet of Things’ was coined and Mobile First web design technology was invented, one of the main trends of the last few years.
New technologies are changing client behavior dramatically, Sberbank CEO said. Another new and important trend is the ecosystem economics, which involves dealing with a wide range of customer needs through a single window service. The entire legion of distributors is being replaced by the so-called “conductor of ecosystems.” Therefore, service providers will have to work with a totally different business model in the future.
Mr. Gref’s presentation elicited great interest from the audience; after the lecture, RANEPA students had a chance to get detailed answers to their questions.
