IFSD project recognized among world's best practices in SDG implementation
The UN has recognized a project of RANEPA Institute of Finance and Sustainable Development (IFSD), Organization of research and education to achieve sustainable development goals, among the world's best practices to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The institute’s submission was the only one from Russia ranked among the world's best practices.
IFSD answered the UN DESA Call for Good Practices, Success Stories and Lessons Learned in SDG Implementation in February 2019, submitting its project, Organization of research and education to achieve sustainable development goals.
The project began with the idea of creating an educational and research center for training specialists with qualifications corresponding to the national development goals of Russia until 2024. Established in October 2018, RANEPA Institute of Finance and Sustainable Development includes a research and education center for sustainable development. All of the center’s programs include the study of SDG problems and ways to achieve them. RANEPA IFSD conducts research, has cooperation agreements with schools, develops educational programs for pupils, students, and school teachers, and also organizes research and methodology seminars for teachers of the institute and implements international educational programs.
The IFSD submission was accepted by the organizing committee along with applications from other countries and was reviewed in accordance with the accepted procedure. According to the results of reviewing, the project was approved as one of the good global practices in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals published on the UN website.
