International Building Challenge: Firsthand
Natalya Safronova, Deputy Dean of the Market Technologies Department of RANEPA Institute of Industry Management (IIM), shared her experience in organizing the International Building Challenge workshop.
The Presidential Academy expert spoke at the II International Conference and Workshop “Modern socio-economic processes of the student-oriented approach in higher education: problems, patterns, prospects,” held as part of the Fifth International Financial University Forum, How to Break into the Top Five of the Leading World Economies.
Natalya Safronova analyzed the practice of organizing international and interdisciplinary projects implemented jointly with the RANEPA IIM Chair of Real Estate Economics under the direction of Kirill Sivolapov.
The International Building Challenge educational project helps students in various areas of training put their knowledge into practice. Future architects, civil engineers, designers, developers and advertisers are given the opportunity to jointly develop design projects. Over the past three years, more than 120 students from eight Russian and foreign universities have performed urban planning tasks under the leadership of an international team of experts and tutors. The customers of historical buildings renovation projects in different years included the Dolgoprudny municipal administration, the Rozhdestvenka architectural bureau, the State Tchaikovsky Memorial Museum-Reserve in Klin, and the Stanislavsky Drama Theater.
The conference participants, representatives of Russian and international educational institutions, noted the great potential of the project for developing students' skills in a multicultural and multi-tasking environment.
