RANEPA and Nazarbayev University sign Memorandum of Cooperation
Rector of the Presidential Academy Vladimir Mau and President of the Nazarbayev University Autonomous Educational Organization of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shigeo Katsu have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The parties agreed to establish and develop cooperation in education and research to internationalize higher education and enhance academic mobility. The memorandum establishes several areas of cooperation including the organization of academic exchanges (including researcher and teacher mobility), the development and implementation of joint training programs for civil servants, managers and masters of business administration, and joint research activities.
The parties agreed to make maximum efforts to develop cooperation even outside the scope outlined by the memorandum. The document also implies the exchange of information on promising projects for building academic, scientific and other ties.
Established at the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan in 2010, Nazarbayev University is the first university in Kazakhstan based on the principles of autonomy and academic independence. The autonomous status was granted to the University in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan of January 19, 2011 On the Status of the Nazarbayev University, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and the Nazarbayev Foundation. The Nazarbayev University’s model of strategic development is based on partnership – each of its schools and research centers is created in collaboration with leading international educational and research institutions.
