RANEPA continues to expand cooperation with Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL), Leipzig
The Presidential Academy and Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography became partners in 2015. The Academy was represented by the Center for Agricultural Research at RANEPA Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEI). The parties have identified their priority tasks for further expansion and continuation of cooperation.
The Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde (Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography, IfL) is a leading research institute for geography in Germany. Research conducted at ISL has to do with spatial structures and current events that have a spatial impact on Europe, as well as the theoretical and historical foundations of Regional Geography. The Regional Geography part explores ongoing processes, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. An important area of the Institute's work has to do with presenting research results to the professional community as well as to a wider audience. The Institute is also a member of the Leibniz Association and one of 16 institutes of the Section Economics, Social Sciences, Spatial Research. The parties are now considering new areas of cooperation and up-to-date research topics.
IfL Director Sebastian Lenz and Alexander Nikulin who heads the Center for Agricultural Research at IPEI RANEPA agreed on three priority areas for cooperation: holding joint research and practice conferences and specialized events bringing together academic staff from IfL and RANEPA; developing a system of academic exchanges for graduate students, teachers and researchers in order to improve their qualifications and deepen international cooperation; and creating favorable conditions for students to join research and expert-analytical projects, for development of the overall research potential.
