RANEPA experts: IMRD Russian-German Dual-Degree Program Ultimately Efficient
The Department of Marketing and International Cooperation of RANEPA Institute of Management and Regional Development conducted a Doors Open Day, at which German and Russian experts and professors described the advantages of the dual-degree Master’s program “Management of Production and Infrastructure Systems in the Digital Economy”, implemented jointly with the German School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) of Steinbeis University in Berlin.
In his speech prepared especially for the Doors Open Day at RANEPA IMRD, Dr. Jörg Fuss, Professor of International Marketing at SIBE and ESB Business School in Reutlingen (Germany), stressed that his thorough research had shown the benefits of joint Russian-German educational programs to exceed the time and money invested by a factor of ten.
The benefits of the Russian-German program at RANEPA IMRD and the opportunities of studying a highly relevant field of digital economy were explained by the head of the Educational Planning and International Cooperation Group, Doctor of Sciences in Economics Elena Panova, who also noted this will be a great opportunity for students to study in both Russian and English, improving their knowledge, gaining experience and networking with foreign colleagues.
Sina Rockenbauch, the Head of International and MBA Programs at the School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) of Steinbeis University in Berlin, drew attention to the program’s features, emphasizing that it is based on practice-oriented (dual) education. She stressed that the all the theoretical knowledge gained by the students at the program will be applied in their practical projects, which they will work on throughout their studies. The projects will be related to actual business problems from various sectors of the economy and industry.
Reiterating the benefits of this form of training, German SIBE professor Jens Mergenthaler emphasized that by applying their knowledge in practice, the students get in-depth understanding and demonstrate their skills better than if they just wrote a test. This makes the learners more competitive in the labor market.
To demonstrate the success of such education, Sina Rockenbauch cited employment statistics for the program graduates, which states that 57% of the graduates had taken management positions within three years after graduation, 71% had been hired by other companies, and 10% of the graduates had started their own companies within three years after graduation.
