RANEPA IBS applies innovative teaching methods
Third-year students of the Faculty of International Relations of the RANEPA Institute of Business Studies (IBS) have compiled E-Portfolio, a creative project as part of the Responsible Management: Developing a Sustainability Mindset course.
A group of third-year International Relations students at RANEPA IBS had to miss the course in Responsible Management: Developing a Sustainability Mindset due to participation in a foreign training program. Therefore, the author of the course, RANEPA IBS professor, ambassador of the PRME Working Group on the Sustainability Mindset Yekaterina Ivanova, was asked to deliver the course content to these students remotely. She also decided to develop a creative task to assess their performance. After exploring the course content independently, the students were to prepare and defend the Electronic Portfolio project.
Essentially, the task was to create a portfolio of 30 digital photos using the tool of meditative photography, which would reflect the interrelation of three concepts: sustainability, nature and art. Each student also wrote an essay. The results were summed up after two months.
Yekaterina Ivanova noted that using innovative teaching methods helps teachers educate the future generation of responsible managers and entrepreneurs who, at a deep value level, understand and accept the importance of sustainability as a new conscious lifestyle.
