RANEPA Institute of Industry Management joins Eurasian tourism and exhibition consortium
On October 29, 2021, RANEPA Institute of Industry Management (IIM) signed an agreement to join the Eurasian Institute of Tourism, Exhibition and Event Management consortium, in a ceremony held as part of the 9th Eurasian Economic Perspective Forum.
The document was signed by Chairman of the Consortium Council Igor Maksimtsev, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, and RANEPA Vice-Rector Ivan Fedotov. Also attending were Deputy Director of RANEPA IIM Natalya Demidova, and Deputy Dean of the IIM Hospitality Department Irina Goncharova.
The agreement will contribute to the effective exchange of experience between Russian and foreign universities that train specialists for the hospitality industry and tourism. The parties also plan to deliver joint training programs and mutually implement the best Russian and foreign practices in the educational process.
“One of the priorities of Russia’s Tourism Development Strategy for the period to 2035 is to create conditions for providing the industry with enough qualified personnel. I am sure that cooperation between Russian and foreign education providers, business representatives and professional associations will help develop a systematic approach to the training of industry specialists and significantly improve the quality of personnel training at all levels,” Ivan Fedotov emphasized.
