RANEPA MBA student wins 2019 World Archery 3D Championships
Mikhail Poddevalin, a student of the Entrepreneurship and Corporate Management program of RANEPA Institute of Business Studies (IBS Moscow) has won first place at the 2019 World Archery 3D Championships in Lac la Beach, Canada.
As many as 265 archers from 25 countries including Italy, France, the USA, Spain, Sweden and other countries have competed in the four-day tournament. Mikhail Poddevalin is also the silver medalist of the 2017 World and the 2018 European Championships. For two years, he was one step away from the top of the podium.
During the Men Longbow finals, he competed against a representative of Uruguay. Both athletes showed good results, but the last shot brought victory to Mikhail.
As the new champion noted, this world event is the most high-profile 3D archery tournament and brings together the best teams from around the world. It takes a long and thorough preparation to compete against them. “The fight was very intense, and all my rivals were strong and experienced athletes with extensive experience in international competitions. I did my best while realizing that even participation in a tournament at this level is a huge experience, and will help me grow as an athlete. I am happy and honored to have competed with the best, because after all, we are all one big sports family,” Mikhail Poddevalin said.
