RANEPA, MISIS university sign cooperation agreement
The Presidential Academy and the MISIS National University of Science and Technology have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at co-organizing EdCrunch 2019, Europe’s largest conference on digital innovations in education, in Moscow on October 1-2.
MISIS University agreed to organize the conference, while RANEPA will act as the general partner. The event will bring together more than 6,000 participants, 20,000 listeners of online broadcasts, as well as 284 speakers from 13 countries, including Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov; Special Presidential Representative on Digital and Technological Development Dmitry Peskov; Rector of the Presidential Academy Vladimir Mau, Vice Rector, Acting Director of RANEPA Institute of Industry Management (IIM) Ivan Fedotov; RANEPA Director for humanitarian policy Alexander Asmolov, and foreign experts.
The sixth international conference will bring together experts from the global educational, research and business communities. Each year, EdCrunch identifies the technological leaders in educational and outlines a strategy for digitalizing the educational environment for a year in an open dialogue between educational institutions, developers of tech solutions and government officials. Russia’s TOP-100 universities pick their partners and conclude preliminary agreements with them. Over the past six years, more than 120 agreements between educational institutions and technology companies have been signed at EdCrunch conferences; more than 400 prominent foreign experts have been invited; educational platforms have been launched; and more than 24,000 unique visitors have attended the events.
The conference will include additional events such as EdCrunch Hack – IT Hackathon, EdCrunch Award – a competition of open online courses, and EdCrunch Product – a competition of the best edtech products. Developers of new technologies and innovative solutions in education can participate in the interactive EdCrunch Expo Village. The results of the Global EdTech Startup Awards (GESA) semifinal, the world's largest EdTech startup competition, will be announced at the conference. This year, the GESA semifinal will be held in Moscow for the first time.
A series of practical workshops from experts from around the world, EDCRUNCH WORKSHOP, is scheduled for September 29 and 30. Leading Russian and international experts will hold more than 20 workshops where participants will study digital technologies and non-standard methodologies for their educational projects and build their individual trajectories of professional skills development.
