RANEPA Russian-Italian Center attends first meeting of parliament subgroup on relations with the Italian Parliament
On June 19, the first meeting of subgroup on economic and business relations with the Italian Parliament was held in the State Duma. The subgroup was established at the first meeting of the relevant parliament group on March 23 with the support and participation of the RANEPA Russian-Italian Center.
The subgroup’s purpose is to consider a wide range of economic cooperation issues between Russia and Italy, such as improving the legislation to create favorable conditions for cooperation.
Subgroup C is led by First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Financial Market Igor Divinsky; Director of the Russian-Italian Center Mamikon Hayrapetyan acts as the group coordinator from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
The meeting was attended by members of Subgroup C – State Duma deputies, representatives of the Italian Embassy and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Italian and Russian businesses, including Italian banks. The meeting was opened by the coordinator of the parliament group on relations with the Parliament of the Italian Republic, State Duma member Dmitry Lameikin.
The participants noted the special role of the Presidential Academy in the development of Russian-Italian relations, and supported a number of proposals of RANEPA Russian-Italian Center, which have no analogues in the sphere of these relations and should help raise them to a new level.
Cooperation proposals of both Italian and Russian partners will be systematized by the Russian-Italian Center and submitted to the State Duma for inclusion in the subgroup action plan for 2017 (September-December).
The materials of the meeting, including cooperation proposals, will be published in the journal of the RANEPA Russian-Italian Center, Small and Medium Business (No. 1, 2017).
