RANEPA students show best results in Chinese-language essay competition
Students from RANEPA Institute of Business Studies (IBS) won 1st and 3rd places in an essay competition organized by the Chinese Embassy; the winners were announced on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
A student essay competition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China has been held by the Education Department at the country’s embassy in Moscow. The essay by Andrei Dagayev from the International Relations Department at IBS Moscow was recognized as the best; Aliya Safina from the same department won bronze.
Both students were invited by the Chinese Embassy to participate in a gala concert for the Chinese diaspora in Moscow. Andrei Dagayev recited the poem “Long live the people!” with such deep emotion that the Chinese public gave him a long standing ovation and would not let the young man leave the stage for a long time. Earlier, his recital of the same poem won 1st place and a special prize at the First Interuniversity Competition of Chinese Poetry Reciters hosted by RANEPA in 2018.
The other Russian prize winner, fourth-year Aliya Safina, shared her impressions: “I am absolutely delighted with the event. The participants did real little shows, very bright and touching, expressly conveying to the audience the feelings that they experienced on stage. These young talents have not left anyone indifferent. Personally, I was especially impressed by the dance with a red banner and the choir. My classmate Andrei Dagayev really earned a storm of applause from the public due to his unique recitation skill. I’m very happy to be among the winners of the Chinese-language essay competition themed “China and I” and to get invited to this exciting event.”
