RANEPA students win prices at Chinese Embassy competitions
The Chinese Embassy in Moscow held the finals of talent competitions for students. Students of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) won bronze medals in the singing competition and a special incentive prize in the recitation competition.
The Embassy organizes annual singing and recitation competition for Chinese students and Russian students of undergraduate and graduate levels from various universities offering in-depth study of the Chinese language. Students taking China Studies at RANEPA Institute of Business Studies (IBS) traditionally take part in the competition.
The competition includes the qualifying round and the finals. This year, RANEPA sophomores (Foreign Area Studies program), took part in the Chinese proficiency competitions for the first time; however, they were named among the top ten performers and even made it to the finals. IBS Students Yelizaveta Chanos and Savely Sultanayev won bronze medals in the fifth singing competition. The duo brought the house down and charmed the exacting jury with their music skill and flawless performance of lyrical songs in Chinese. IBS student Andrei Dagayev made it to the finals of the third recitation competition and received high marks from the jury for his brilliant recital. He was awarded a diploma and an incentive prize.
