RANEPA Summer Campus 2018: Results Summarized

The VII RANEPA International Summer Campus, an annual educational project for talented and active students from Russia and foreign countries, which is held for two weeks in the Republic of Tatarstan, ended.

Each time, the organizers choose relevant and interesting topics to explore. This year, the participants got acquainted with the multi-faceted field of entertainment and culture. During the 10-day program, students studied marketing, PR and production activities of international and domestic companies, including The Walt Disney, The Coca-Cola, Mastercard, Soyuzmultfilm, etc.

In addition, the participants received practical assignments from companies. Throughout the RANEPA Summer Campus, the students have worked on projects under the supervision of experienced tutors. “The RANEPA Summer Campus helps us shape the future business elite, so big companies from all over the world come here to get talents,” shared her opinion a representative of The Сoca-Cola – the general partner of the RANEPA Summer Campus.

The participants learned the results and assessments of created project work at the official closing ceremony. The event was attended by Ivan Fedotov, RANEPA Provost, Irada Ayupova, Republic of Tatarstan Minister of Culture, and Natalia Demidova, Director of the RANEPA Summer Campus. Irada Ayupova thanked RANEPA and the RANEPA Summer Campus Administration, noting that the event was also an important contribution to the Republic’s cultural development.

Then the student teams were awarded. The Walt Disney Company awarded the title of best project in Disney’s new product development and promotion to Team No. 11, One by One. Throughout the Forum, participants were engaged in developing of the final special project for the RANEPA Summer Campus. Team No. 12, The Royal Team, won in the Audience Choice Award. According to experts, Team No. 4, International Vision, became the winner. A special prize of the organizing committee was awarded to Team No. 8, Eighternity.

Not only participants but also moderators make important part of the teams. Every year, one of the participating students has a chance to return to the RANEPA Summer Campus as a moderator. It was Garret Wade, a student from the United States, who got the lucky ticket this year.

Traditionally, the official closure of the RANEPA Summer Campus finished with the flag descent and launch of the balloons into the skies, and the most touching and sentimental moment was the participants’ farewell speeches to each other. Students knot ribbons on the badges and say farewell words and give their final wishes.

After the festive dinner, the participants were in for a rousing informal closing ceremony. Students with the best items performed on stage. Twin sisters Madina and Zarina Agliullina of Kazan played the flute; Niklas Beiderwieden of Germany danced to the So ein schöner Tag song picked up by the entire audience. The heartfelt song of Hallelujah performed by the RANEPA Summer Campus organizers in three languages, Russian, English and Tatar, was a special surprise.

The results of many competitions were also summed at the ceremony. The One by One team, the most athletic and disciplined, won prizes from Coca-Cola, the official partner of the RANEPA Summer Campus. Team No. 4, International Vision, won the competition for the most creative video.

In conclusion, Ivan Fedotov, RANEPA Provost, thanked all of the participants and organizers for their work and wished the participants to return home inspired and charged for new achievements: “Cherish the memory of those amazing days spent at the RANEPA Summer Campus 2018!”

The ceremony culminated with the Fire Show and the dazzling fireworks to the famous A Million Voices song symbolizing the unity of nations. The organizers of the RANEPA Summer Campus, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and RANEPA, believe that it is only in the format of close collaboration between the people from all over the world that a talented and tolerant generation of future leaders can be nurtured.
