RANEPA Summer Campus: Participants Learned about Disney Brands

On July 17, Igor Makarov, Head of the Marketing Department of “The Walt Disney Company CIS”, gave a lecture for students at the International Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy.

The guest spoke about the Disney brands, which became “the most powerful in the entertainment industry.” There are three main brands within the company: Disney itself – the parent brand, from which the company grew; Star Wars and MARVEL.

“All three stories of these brands differ from each other, have different directions, allowing the company to apply to different audiences,” Igor Makarov said. So, MARVEL is an epic tale, with its inherent openness, compassion and heroism. Star Wars involves mystical narration from a distant galaxy, where you can find a balance of black and white, endless quest, humanity and hope. Disney is a number of fascinating stories full of fun and optimism.

During an interesting lecture, the expert showed the participants of VII RANEPA Summer Campus an illustrative statistic of how many people in the world know these brands and who has more fans. Thus, Disney is known practically to the entire population of the globe. MARVEL, as the youngest company among the Disney brands, is known not so well, but its popularity is growing every year.

Before the participants of the Summer Campus began asking questions, Igor Makarov decided to check how much they know the company. He asked if Avatar, Iron Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean could be Disney movies? This question of the speaker caused a lively discussion in the hall, which showed the interest of students.

In addition to stories about brands, their similarities and differences, about cooperation with various large companies (Pandora, MasterCard, Dr Pepper), Igor Makarov spoke a lot about the importance of being a significant personality.
