RANEPA will assist University of Pisa in adopting Cambridge system
The RANEPA Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (FESS) is expanding cooperation with the University of Pisa (UNIPI) by sharing its experience in creating the Cambridge certification center.
Anna Lipina, Director of RANEPA Cambridge certification center, Head of the FESS Department of English, has delivered a series of lectures and workshops on preparing for international Cambridge exams (BEC, FCE, CAE) at the University of Pisa, invited by its Faculty of Economics and Management (Dipartimento de Economia e Management).
She also held a number of meetings with representatives of the UNIPI Faculty of Philology, Literature and Linguistics. Dr. Lipina and her Italian colleagues discussed the possibilities of exchanging experience in language training, joint linguistic research, and developing joint online English-language modules for Italian and Russian students.
The Center for International English Examinations at RANEPA has been operating for four years. Over this period, more than 500 students of the Academy were awarded international certificates in English. Foreign students participating in academic mobility programs at FESS also pass Cambridge exams together with their Russian counterparts.
Those students’ experience has led two more universities – the University of Pisa and the Hungarian Szent István University – to decide to adopt the Cambridge English language training system. RANEPA Cambridge certification center agreed to assist them at their request.
Now the Russian and Italian centers are working together on the development of new methods of preparation and international examination procedures in the framework of the Cambridge educational system.
