Representatives of the Spanish, Italian and French embassies have participated in the Diplomatic Football Cup of the Presidential Academy at RANEPA campus.
The foreign embassies’ teams played against the students and staff of the Higher School of Law at RANEPA Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS). High-schoolers of the RANEPA Lyceum also joined the tournament.
“The Presidential Academy especially emphasizes international contacts today: we are implementing a large number of joint educational programs with foreign universities, and training specialists in international affairs and foreign languages,” director of RANEPA IPACS Igor Bartsits said at the opening ceremony. “We have organized this diplomatic tournament to show that we are always ready for new types of cooperation with our foreign partners.”
The tournament was incredibly spectacular and ended in a series of penalties. The Italian Embassy team won the Cup; the French team became the silver medalist, and the Spanish Embassy won the bronze medals. The Presidential Academy lawyers closed fourth.
Along with the main Diplomatic Cup matches, young players from the RANEPA Lyceum played against freshmen of the IPACS bachelor of law program. The Lyceum team was awarded honorary medals for participating in the high status tournament.
