Spanish ambassador to Russia visits RANEPA
On September 6, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Russia, Mr. Jose Ignacio Carbajal Garate, visited RANEPA for the first time at the invitation of RANEPA Rector Vladimir Mau. He was accompanied by the embassy’s educational attaché, Mr. Jose Aurelio Llaneza Villanueva.
The following from RANEPA also participated in the meeting: Vice Rector Maxim Nazarov, Director of the Institute for Public Administration and Management (IPAM) Igor Bartsits, the dean of IPAM’s regional studies and regional government department, Valentina Komleva, and the director of RANEPA’s Russian-Spanish Center, Olga Pirozhenko. The parties discussed the productive work being done with Spanish universities, including the double diploma programs. During the meeting, areas of future cooperation with Spain were discussed.
A decision was made to create an educational resource center together with the Spanish Embassy in Moscow. It is planned to hold a Russian-Spanish roundtable at the 2017 Gaidar Forum. The discussion will be dedicated to 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Spain. In addition, a photo exhibition on this topic will be organized at RANEPA.
The Spanish ambassador to Russia thanked RANEPA Rector Vladimir Mau for the gracious welcome, noting that he was happy that he had the opportunity to visit RANEPA. Mr. Jose Ignacio Carbajal Garate said that the Spanish Embassy in Moscow is ready to help and support RANEPA in the development of multilateral cooperation with Spain in all areas.
