Student remotely boosts Russia’s image in French Lyon
Magomed Dalakov, a 3rd year student from International Business and Business Administration Department at RANEPA Institute of Business Studies (IBS) has remotely organized a campaign in France in support of the Universiade in Krasnoyarsk.
Magomed Dalakov had taken a mobility course at the CEFAM University in France using a grant from the European Erasmus + program. Back at IBS Moscow, the student wanted to attract the attention of his new friends from around the world to the Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, assuming it is an excellent reason to suport the positive image of Russia abroad.
So he succeeded in organizing an awareness event at two sites in France – on Campus René Cassin and on Place de Bellecour in the center of Lyon, where stands and posters were installed with information about the Universiade, and CEFAM students deployed at both places talking about the history and current progress of the Universiade in Russia. The young man managed his entire project remotely.
He noted that the idea to hold a Universiade support event came to his mind quite by chance, but “the motivation, however trite it might sound, was that I sincerely hoped to popularize sport, to unite nations, to try and fight racism, disrespect and contempt for people, to support our country through its many troubles, amid stereotypes about us. This is my first experience in implementing such projects.” Despite the unexpected difficulties in organizing the event, it was an excellent challenge.
“Our student has invented and organized a campaign in Lyon in support of the Universiade, in support of the positive image of Russia. With his remote management, the project was implemented by an international team of CEFAM students he had met in France the previous semester. What can I say? Super!” noted Irina Kolesnikova, Dean of the International Business and Business Administration Department at RANEPA IBS.
