Summer Campus participants show bright variety of talents

On July 22, a talent show took place as part of the International Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy, where the participants demonstrated their musical and dancing skills or some unusual talents.

The Summer Campus jury – Director Natalya Demidova, Deputy Director Alexei Spirin, Director of the Analytic Centre for the CIS at EY Alexei Rybnikov, co-founder of the BASH Today event venue rental service Yefim Kolodkin and Head of RANEPA Press Service Dmitry Sokolov – was again confronted with a challenging task of evaluating the brightest and most creative student shows.

The gala opened with a joint performance by members of the Sticky Stickers and Chak-Chak teams – Rimma Bilalova, Svetlana Musatova and Javier Gonzalez, who played an instrumental version of Radioactive, a popular Imagine Dragons hit. Torn Souls sung by the representative of Big Bang rocked the house. The Sofya Khamitova-Zuhair Abbas duo from High Five and WOW amazed the audience with their version of Shallow from A Star is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

The first dance was shown by High Five’s Anastasia Proshchenkova and Alina Pashina. Ivan Novitskiy from Link showed his calligraphic talent. Inza Idelbaeva from Power performed the Burzyanochka, a traditional Tatar dance; she also recited a poem she wrote. Young men from the Flexers team – Job Shinen, Daniel Idiare and Airat Sadykov played an improvised song.

A representative of Sticky Stickers, Moulia Michael Schumacher, sang My Love. Aigul Sibgatullina from Chak-Chak sang L’Amore E Femmina. One of the most unusual talents was demonstrated by Sulejmani Aziz from the Fighting Babies team who recited pi from memory, having memorized over a hundred digits after the decimal. The talent show ended with another musical show – Chavez Rodriguez from Link played the harmonica.

Following the performances, the jury named three winners of the show – Alena Drozdova, the Sofya Khamitova-Zuhair Abbas duo, and the man with a phenomenal memory, Sulejmani Aziz.
