The Alliance of Russian and Spanish Universities at the Presidential Academy with the support of the Embassy of Spain in Moscow hosted a round table "The Light of Faith and Truth of Fyodor Dostoyevsky"
The discussion, held in the format of an opinion exchange, was attended by Spanish universities - partners of RANEPA, as well as by invited Russian universities, whose students intensively study Spanish. It was opened by Olga Pirozhenko, Secretary General of the Alliance of Russian and Spanish Universities. She stressed that the anniversary date is widely celebrated not only in Russia, but all over the world, including Spain, where the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky are well known and loved.
Russian and Spanish professors, researchers in the field of literature, journalism, philology and philosophy, who spoke at the event, discussed the cultural heritage of Russia and Spain, the historical parallels in the development of both countries, as well as the deep emotional closeness of the literary characters of Dostoevsky and Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.
Students of Spanish universities noted that Dostoevsky's works remain relevant today, even to the younger generation.
The event was organized by the Alliance of Russian and Spanish Universities, a platform for constructive and fruitful dialogue between the academic communities of Russia and Spain, as well as by the Russian-Spanish Center of IPACS RANEPA together with the Department of language training of civil servants and the Russian Center of the University of Valencia, a strategic partner of the Presidential Academy in Spain.
