The Kaleidoscope of Cultures opens up new horizons for Summer Campus participants

The Kaleidoscope of Cultures is one of the brightest and most memorable events during the Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy. This year, it brought together representatives of 29 countries who presented their native lands, and spoke about their customs and traditions.

The gala evening began with an unusual dance by one of the talent show participants who performed Kalinka while standing on his head. The team representing Russia was the first to perform, combining traditional folk dances with modern ones. Then three beautiful young women from Bulgaria in traditional attire spoke about their traditions and performed a folk dance, which was joined by other Campus participants. A traditional Serbian dance continued the show.

Representatives of Central Asia sent the spectators on a journey to four countries: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. They demonstrated the most beautiful places and introduced everyone to their traditions and culture. The performance ended with traditional folk dance of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Students from Kazakhstan rapped about their country wearing traditional costumes, combining traditional and modern styles.

Students from Spain prepared an incendiary performance playing the violin, the guitar and the piano, and then doing a dance that caused a storm of emotions from the audience. Vietnamese students performed a dance in traditional white dresses with conical hats to the song Hello Vietnam, complementing their performance with a speech about the beauty of and love for their country. A participant from the United States spoke about America, presenting her country the way it is not shown in films, but how it is seen by millions of people in many states. She completely destroyed the generally accepted stereotypes about her country.

Congo is a place famous for its nature, which was vividly shown in the video that preceded a popular dance to Ecole by Fally Ipupa. Students from Armenia and Pakistan danced their folk dances in traditional costumes, visually introducing the audience to their culture. A hot dance from Nepal made the whole room dance to the song Shake Body. Students from Bolivia, Slovenia, China and Zambia showed very interesting videos about their countries, showing their traditions, customs and interesting facts about their native lands.

The show ended with the performance by the team from Tatarstan – the region that annually hosts the participants of the Summer Campus. The students sang a song about their native land, danced a folk dance and did a bright modern song Altyn.
