The Participants of the Campus Visited the Main Attractions of Kazan
One of the most important events of the day on the RANEPA Summer Campus was a tour of Kazan – the participants visited the main attractions, historical and tourist sites.
The excursion route consisted of three stages – a sightseeing tour, a walk through the Kazan Kremlin and a visit to the City Panorama museum.
As part of the sightseeing tour, the students visited the "Istanbul" square, the "Kazan" family center, the Tatneft-Arena Ice Palace, the Water Sports Palace and, of course, the Kazan-Arena football stadium. The participants not only saw the most famous sports and cultural objects of Kazan, but also learned about their history.
It was cloudy and cool, not quite typical when you thing about the July weather, but it was perfect for a walk around the Kremlin. In the Kremlin, the students learned about the history of the foundation of Kazan. Kul Sharif Mosque, the symbol of the capital of Tatarstan, struck the participants with its beauty.
"I really like Kazan, this city has such an interesting history, monuments and sights are so unusual, and I want to know more about them," Catherine Mei Armstrong, a USA student, shared her impressions with.
Next was the City Panorama museum. The greatest attention of the participants was drawn by the models of Kazan XV-XVI, XVIII and XXI centuries. The models are equipped with modern means of full-color illumination and have a sound accompaniment. In addition, during the course of the excursion the images of historic events are projected on the models of the XV-XVI centuries and the XVIII century that help to represent the events more vividly.
"Kazan impressed me so much! I've never been here and, frankly, I thought that the only unique and beautiful city was St. Petersburg. Kazan has dissuaded me from this, this city has such a rich historical heritage, and I just enjoy every moment here," Roman Shydlovskiy from St. Petersburg told about his impressions.
